Spring Knitting Plans

I’m trying to wrap up my winter making and am having fun looking ahead to spring! I’ve gone through my stash, bought a little more yarn, and got my plans in place for what I hope to work on this spring. I pared this down quite a bit from my original giant list, but I still don’t think I will get through all of these. And that’s totally fine! I like having options and getting to pick through a few choices to see what I feel like working on. These are all sweaters, but I also want to make some fun socks for my kids for their upcoming birthdays!

Starting at the top left, I want to work on the Tessellated Vest by Andrea Mowry. I bought this yarn last summer in Santa Fe and keep putting off working on this pattern because I know that mosaic knitting can be a bit of a beast! However, Andrea’s March to May Knitalong just started and I think that will be good motivation to work on this.

My newest yarn purchase is going to be this Basic V Minimi Knit Design. I have had an idea for a lime green sweater in my head for spring and I think this will be perfect. My yarn should be here any day and I hope to swatch and have this on my needles for our Spring Break travels.

I finished a sweater in February that I haven’t shared here because I hate it! The fit just doesn’t work and I’m unhappy with so much of it. In looking for what else to use my yarn for, I found the Salty Days Sweater by Veronika Lindberg and I think working this texture will make me like my yarn and make it more wearable. Veronika had a pattern sale over the weekend so I snatched this up and hope to swatch it this weekend.

I bought a kit for the Reverb Shawl by Alexandra Tavel last year and would love to get this on my needles. I think this is a fairly simple pattern and I have some fun colors to play with that will make it interesting. I’m not in a rush to finish this, but would love to have it done to throw on for a chilly summer night and for sure to get to wear in the fall.

I bought some bright happy yarn to try my hand at the Artisane Cardigan by Sandnes Design . I am loving all things texture right now and I love that each panel of this cardigan has a different motif to work on. This will be my first cardigan and I imagine I will be working on it into the summer.

Finally, I’d love to start on the Sibling Sweater by Laura Penrose. My daughter helped me pick out yarn for this one and I love the colors. I think this will be an easy one after the cardigan and should work up pretty quickly.

I’m excited to get started on these as soon as I finish up my current projects and will definitely be sharing here as I work through them!
