Sharing my first summer make and it’s a pair of adorable rainbow shorts for my daughter. Last year I saw these shorts from Hanna Andersson and went on a search for fabric that would give me the same look. I thought this Michael Miller Fabric was pretty perfect, I bought it from Thimbleanna on Etsy but I don’t think she carries it anymore. I’ve linked to fabric.com instead.
I used the free City Gym shorts from Purl Soho to make these shorts and I love how they turned out. I sewed up the size 10 and used some yellow cotton quilting in my stash for the bias binding and waistband.
This pattern has been around awhile and I can see why it’s a lot of people’s go to comfy shorts pattern. I think I may use it for some fun jammies later this summer.
Harper loves them as rainbows and yellow are her favorite! I still have a little bit of this fabric leftover and will have to think of something fun to make with it.
